Cheltenham students ride their bikes home from school

We started a bike bus at Cheltenham on May 7, National Bike-to-School day!

Bike bus routes are similar to school bus routes - there is a set route and timetable and students can "get on and off" at different stops along the route. There is one adult leading the pack and one brining up the rear to keep students safe. And of course, helmets are required!

Bike busses promote community, teach students bike safety, build confidence, and help keep kids healthy. Plus, they're great for the environment.

Our bike bus is the only one in Denver not organized and run by parents; it’s fully staffed by volunteers and community members.

In the fall, we hope to have a bike bus once a month or more!
