DCIS @ Fairmont incorporates teachers and parents into one decision-making governing body, the School Accountability Committee (SAC).
SAC Membership and Duties
DCIS at Fairmont incorporates teachers, parents, and community members into one decision-making governing body, the School Accountability Committee (SAC). Members shall self-nominate and provide a short reasoning which shall be shared with the greater community, and the community shall vote in the members of the SAC. While voting on recommendations will be left up to SAC members, anyone in the community is invited to attend SAC meetings. SAC meets throughout the year to:
Approve the innovative annual calendar
Approve the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) based on qualitative and quantitative data
Analyze progress on UIP goals
Determine addition, reduction or change in positions as permitted by the budget
Stay up to date on school progress and data to inform decision making
Supports efforts in marketing, enrollment, and family outreach
